Most homes are lit by a single pendant in the middle of the ceiling, which is rarely the most flattering or the most useful arrangement. Layering a room — general light, task light over worktops and desks, and something softer in the evening — makes it far more comfortable to live in.

Old fittings and flickering LEDs
Swapping halogen for LED sounds simple and often isn't: many older dimmers and transformers won't run LED lamps smoothly, which is why upgraded lighting flickers or buzzes. Cameron matches the lamps, drivers and dimmers so the result is steady and quiet.

Frequently asked questions
Can you add downlights without pulling up the floor above?
In most cases yes, working from below through the ceiling. Cameron will tell you what's realistic once he has seen the ceiling construction and joist direction.
Why do my new LED lights flicker on a dimmer?
Usually the dimmer is an older type designed for halogen loads, or the lamps and driver are not compatible. Fitting a trailing-edge LED dimmer and matched lamps normally solves it completely.
Can you supply the fittings?
Yes, or you can buy your own if you have something specific in mind. Send Cameron a link before you order and he'll confirm it's suitable for the location.
Do you install outdoor and garden lighting?
Yes — path, patio, driveway and security lighting, including a dedicated protected circuit where needed so a garden fault doesn't trip the rest of the house.
